Adopted on February 27, 1967, the Antigua and Barbuda national flag. It is red with a white inverted triangle in the center that contains three horizontal black, blue, and white stripes. These colors stand for the country's African origin (black), peaceful nature (white), and Caribbean Sea (blue). A golden sun is found in the center of the triangle to symbolize hope and a new beginning. The bottom of the triangle is in a V shape, which denotes victory.
