Emblem of Organization of American States

It is the Organization of American States (OAS), the world's oldest regional and oldest international public organization, created in 1948, with 35 independent states from North and South America. The idea was created to establish cooperation and democracy among members and was set up on April 30, 1948. The flag of the OAS comprises a blue circle on a white background, symbolizing the solidarity and unity of its members. The ten gold stars around the circle represent each country's promise of freedom, peace and development. Additionally, the colors stand for stability, purity, and hope in the area.
