Flag of Netherlands

One of the oldest tricolor flags in the world is the flag of the Netherlands, aka 'Holland.' The latter has three horizontal stripes of red, white, and blue. Red means courage and strength, white means peace and honesty, and blue means loyalty and justice. In the Dutch Revolt against Spanish rule (1572), this design, which became the standard, made its first appearance.
