It has three horizontal bands: red, white, and black. On the hoist side is a green triangle with a white star. Red means the blood of independence, white is for peace and unity; black is for the African continent's heritage, green is for the triangle of Islam, the majority religion of our population, and finally, a white star for hope and optimism for the future.
