Flag of Ethiopia

Adopted on October 31, 1996, the national flag of Ethiopia is the official flag of Ethiopia. Prosperity, represented by the green band, stands for fertility and natural resources; the yellow band represents the harmony of different ethnic groups in a country. The blood that Ethiopia lost in her struggle for liberation and her unity with her people is represented by the red band. The six-pointed star on the blue emblem stands for diversity and brings prosperity under one united nation.
