The flag of Gabon has three horizontal stripes: green, green, and yellow. Two green stripes are the width of each green stripe, and the yellow stripe is twice the width of each green stripe. In the center the black triangle pointing to the hoist side of the flag contains a white five pointed star. The yellow stands for savannahs, and the green stripes for the country's natural resources and forests. Independence and unity signify the black triangle; unity and democracy signify the star.
