The flag of Indonesia, a country located in Southeast Asia, has undergone several changes throughout its history. After gaining independence, Indonesia adopted a new national flag on August 17, 1945. It was designed by Sukarno, Indonesia's first president, and consists of two equal horizontal stripes - red at the top and white at the bottom. These colors symbolize courage and purity, respectively. In the center of the flag is a golden emblem known as the Pancasila, which represents Indonesia's national ideology.
