Israel's official flag has the blue Star of David surrounded by two white stripes. The famous blue sky and the hues of the Orthodox Jewish prayer shawl encouraged the choice. Sometimes used for the Star of David, the Jewish icon, which is the Magen David. It symbolises the Shield of David, the bond between Israel and God.
