Flag Detail
Red-white-red is the fundamental horizontal triband of the Austrian flag. One of the strongest royal houses in Europe, the House of Habsburg's coat of arms apparently influenced the colours. Choosing the current design on May 1, 1945, after World War II, was based on a Design that has been the official design of the Duchy of Austria since 1230.
