Flag Detail

Designed following French independence on June 27, 1977, the Djiboutian flag consists of two equal horizontal white (top) and light blue bands with a red triangle at the hoist with a yellow, five-pointed star. The colours mean that white sand is for peace, blurs the country's proximity to the Red Sea, and green is for hope and flirtiness. The star of the red triangle represents the different ethnic groups united in Djibouti.
