Flag Detail
One of the first flags still in constant use worldwide, the Denmark national flag is the Dannebrog, sometimes known as "Danish Cloth. Adopted in 1625, it is a red field with a white cross extending four equal quadrants from the margins. Legend says that during the battle in Estonia in 1219, the Danes won because the flag fell from the sky onto the Danish soldiers. The colors themselves stand for white, which denotes peace, honesty, and purity; red, which stands for acarida, which quotes valor, bravery, and strength.
