Flag Detail

Adopted on December 1, 1958, the Central African Republic flag consisted of a vertical blue, white, green tricolour with a five-pointed yellow star in the middle. Traditionally, the story has defined the hues as signifying trust (green), purity (white), and hope (blue). The red line on the left side edge represents liberty and personal choice. Its yellow suggests harmony and the compass that the people should use for growth and peace.
